Hey Reader!
Caregiver Recharge helps you learn the value of taking time for yourself!
Let's explore Caregivers
Today, while I stopped for a break from riding my bike, I witnessed a touching interaction.
There was a man in a wheelchair who had suffered a stroke, and he was showing a picture of his late wife to a person walking a dog.
I could sense that the dog walker was busy, but she stayed and listened to the man talk about his wife.
The dog walker mentioned that one of her in-laws had also suffered a stroke, creating a shared experience of loss.
I could hear her voice's compassion and understanding of what the man was going through.
It was heartwarming to see the man enjoying the beauty of the outdoors despite being in a wheelchair, as well as the dog walker's kindness to the man.
As a caregiver,
I love spending time with others, especially enjoying the outdoors.
The area that I was biking in was a place where I brought the kids a lot when they were younger, Emily and David.
Loved to put them in a carriage behind my bike and it had a spot to place towels, water, and snacks. We would adventure to the park. They would enjoy the splash pad on warm sunny days.
Now that they are teenagers, I like to go there, especially when I feel tired and need a break from caregiving.
The memories made me smile and taught me that I need to enjoy life moments and self-care, which are essential elements for caregiver recharge.
Take care and do something for you!
Warm Regards,
Jenn
